New York Citaaaaaaaaaaay

Our Humanities group went to NYC for a weekend. Annie's face pretty much sums up how we felt after a 10 hr overnight bus ride with no sleep. This is at the hostel. Boo hostels.

On the subway on our way to Ellis Island. Note the optimistic smiles on Shaina, Amanda and Annie. What they don't know is it's pouring and will continue to pour the entire day and night. "KNOCK KNOCK" the day is gonna fucking suck, bitches!

Waiting for the ferry to Ellis Island. Apparently (white) people decided not to check the weather beforehand so (white) people didn't have umbrellas and had to buy cheap ones off some dude on the street. They instantly broke. Some (black/mixed/ethnic) people came prepared with umbrellas in hand. We know better.

This is the one picture from Ellis Island. I'd like to say it was moving and great but it was actually just packed full of kids and freezing cold.

Libertad.

The thing from the World Trade Center in Battery Park.

After Ellis Island and Battery Park we went to the Met Museum.

Said Met.

Some knights.

Annie is a big art afficionado.

They had a whole room of weapons and armor. I pack heat like that 24/7 so don't fuggs with me. I keeps it real!

Here we are chillin' with some Pharoahe and his booskie.

They had a cool exhibit about superheroes and fashion. A lot of avant garde pieces from the world renowned designers. It was neat. They had costumes from all the superhero movies too. There was no photography allowed but they had Christian Bale's suit from the Dark Knight and I don't know if you've ever seen Christian Bale but wow...so I had to break the rule.

A piece by Salvador Dali

Up close and personal with Diego Rivera

The full piece by Diego

African Tribal mask. I made everyone trudge through the African wing. They begrudgingly obliged.

After the Met we went back to the Hostel to get ready. 10 girls sharing 4 bathroom stalls/showers all trying to get ready at the same time. Not to mention all the other women on the floor we had to share with. It took a lot of planning...

After getting ready and whatnot we went to this weird restaurant our Humanities leader recommended called the Cowgirl Hall of Fame. It was as weird as it sounds. We rolled 10 deep and had to wait an eternity to be seated.

Dos Amandas; una blanco, una marron.

Margaritas in mason jars, you can't top that...

This is the face Renee makes when you get in between her and food.

PEACE UP! I guess? I dunno what inspired that. Alcohol probably. We hadn't eaten all day so like 2 beers or 1 margarita deep we were feeling tipsy haha. That is until they gave us a bill that wasn't split up and we had to divide 10 meals and drinks...

The drinks came with little bulls or "unicorns" as Thea called them. We thought it was hilarious to make them hump. At the time it seemed funny. We are all 15 year old boys at heart. When Thea saw this picture on my lcd she said, "that could be a postcard!" I dunno what kind of fucked up post cards she gets but....

This is Thea giving handjobs to her and my Corona. I guess she was excited to see them. The verb we invented was "handjobbing." So then, Thea is handjobbing two beers. Classy.

This is what Thea looks like when she's not handjobbing Mexican beers. We repped the mulattas on the trip. Black moms/white dads holler!

My bull & I be fly.

After that weird dinner we were exhausted so headed back to the hostel. On the way we ran into Jim who was at a jazz bar and told us that it was amazing, "it's like Bernie's but 10 times greater." Bernie's is horrible though so, I dunno what that means. Anyway, we went back and went to bed by like 1:30am...party hard haha.

The next morning I randomly ran into Seth on the subway. I guess he was in NYC too with another scholars group. They were staying at the same hostel. Weird.

We went on an "international food tour" were we basically walked around the different ethnic areas of nyc and ate random foods. Pickles, tofu, parmeseano and fresh mozerella cheeses, salami, candied rose petals, etc.

The following images masterfully capture what I call, "pickle face":

Sonia's pickle face--she looks pretty worried. Despite the pickle face, Sonia is the inventor of "KNOCK KNOCK" so she gets a pass.

"WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW" (copyright Flavor Flav)
Pickle face is the worst. Halfrican pickle face, so unattractive...

Even when you try to pose...not so cute.

The sunglasses lady was the one telling us about food and ethnic areas. I got bored pretty quickly and started taking pictures of random things.

The mean streets

I have no idea what that is, I was just bored of that lady.

graffitied truck

Graffitied wall

Some dude kickin it like there's no tomorrow next to the subway entrance.

Thea's half-breed face.

The one the only Jim McKee. By 10am on both days he explicitly said either, "I need a drink" or "I should have brought my flask." I reminded him that it was 10am but, ya know, it's good old Jim.

The streets still <3 Big Baby Jesus. Wu Forever!

Jeremy. I'm not sure if he's winking or the sun is in his eye...

This picture is for Matt. Once he had a dream that he took me to New York so he could get a happy ending in a seedy massage parlor from a "masseuse". In the dream I dumped him when he told me his fantasy and he couldn't understand why. So when I found a seedy massage parlor, I thought of him. It's all for you, booskie. haha.

Random stuff in a little market in Chinatown

Dried fish, mmm mmm bitch!?

Our international food tour ended in Little Italy

Thea, Nicole, Ann & Jessie in Littly Italy

Jim and I are in deep conversation, probably about nothing. Or the Godfather. We talked a lot about the Godfather that day. "Don't forget the Cannoli!"

Speaking of Cannoli, here's Annie, Shaina and Amanda enjoying some. They were so amazing, I could've eaten 400 cannoli but I only had one cannolo and I dropped on the ground halfway through eating it. It was heartbreaking.

After I dropped my delicious cannolo on the ground we decided to eat at Giovanna's which was one of the cheapest restaurants in Little Italy. It was quite tasty though. A super hot waiter work there too, we all imagined that he'd be quite tasty too.

Eating some pasta

Hohlbein, Hartman, McCann

After lunch we got some gelato and shopped around a bit. The most interesting thing I found were some knockoff Kanye sunglasses:

Only $5! ha

Apparently Sonia and Nicole liked them too.

Stay fly

After Little Italy we made our way over to Canal St. to see the same fake bags over and over. It was a bit disappointing. Thankfully we didn't stay long.

My favorite thing about Canal St. was the giant GTA IV ad. Niko Belic! Yes, I took a picture of a video game advertisement. Yes, I'm a nerd but I don't care because I'm also amazing. Now what?!

Amanda and Renee

After looking at the same fake D&G bags and knockoff sunglasses we decided to take the train to Central Park. This turned into a tiny fiasco because the uptown bound trains were closed so we had to take a lengthy detour.

Waiting for the train Renee and Annie rocking their Canal St. purchases. Hartman got some lime green stunner shades. Ballin!

Banana & Fudge--such a wonderful combination!

My expert behind the back photography skillz. I'm mad talented. Shaina & Annie are so dramatic.

Annie's phrase of the trip anytime she'd get upset was "Suck a Dick!" which later became "Suck a pussy!" Thankfully she's pretty happy here though so none of us don't have to engage in unwanted fellatio/cunnilingus by force.

...Still waiting for the train...

Ahhh here it comes!

Almost there...

Yesssssss!

So we finally got to Central Park and it was calming after a day of bootleg bags and spicy tofu to just walk around and relax.

tranquility...ahhhhhhhhhh!

The illustrious O-H-I-O. I wanted to put the O in Ohio but you can't always get what you want.

Corniest picture ever. Senior picture status. Note that I'm right in the middle--I'm like a black hole...

Annie did her famous ninja jump and I'm pretty sure this one is the most successful yet. She's got ups for sure.

Renee & I look like such a happy couple.

There was goose poo everywhere; we were strategically placed in those positions.

Hahaha. So sexy.

I'm pretty corny, as evidenced by this picture by the willow and water.

After Central Park we hit up the projects on the way back to the hostel. A Jamaican man offered me some of his blunt and some other boy told me that Kobe was the greatest cause he heard me point out his shoes to my friends. We got ready at the Hostel and headed to Times Square for (free!) dinner.

Starving before dinner...so hungry!

Thea, Annie & I. Minorities unite!!! Where's Sonia?

Ann, Amanda, Renee & Shaina before dinner

Renee's reaction when someone told her it was finally time to eat

I included this picture not because of Sonia or Nicole but because of that black girl in the background. She's some Humanities underclassman and I dunno who she thinks she is but, we have enough black girls in Humanities already. Last time I checked Thea, Michelle, Ashley and I didn't ask for some new darkie in our highly exclusive club. hahaha.

Annie & I look booed up here. She looks like she's trying to cuddle all up on me and I look like I'm ready and willing. Weird.

After din-din we went out and took some stereotypical pictures in Times Square:

Broadway Adverts....why would anyone want to pay $50 to see Legally Blonde the Musical?

This is us trying to look goofy but you can't really see our faces so we probably just look like we don't know how to look attractive

I only took a picture of that b/c it was a giant advert for Nike. I could care less for Jeter but you gotta love Jordan.

This picture is dope except for the stupid House of Payne advert. Tyler Perry is everywhere! It's my worst nightmare!!!!

Mtv Studios...TRL or whatever. More importantly, THE LION KING!!!

This one is Tyler Perryless which automatically makes it infinitely better.

After Times Square we went to some comedy club. I didn't take any pictures there because you weren't missing anything. Their wall of fame had Dustin Diamond and Gilbert Godfrey if that explains anything. They made fun of us the whole time though which was good fun.

Is that the Empire State Building? I dunno, I'm not sure. It could be, or it might just be some other giant building. Who knows? Not me.

While we were waiting for the train the Cavs were playing and I checked the score to see they were up on Boston by a handful so I thought this was fitting. Seriously. My Cavs love runs deep. Too bad their season is over so soon =(

After the comedy show we went back to the hostel and got ready for the long ride back the next morning. As evidenced by the following picture, I was not looking forward to it in the least:
